Gracie Grounds: Brazilian Coffee
The Gracie Family rolls out coffee with Bean2Bean
The Gracie Family has exported Brazilian Jujitsu to the U.S. and now they are gifting us with Brazilian coffee. Daniel Gracie has partnered with Bean2Bean Coffee Co. to masterfully design this roast that will triumph over any other Brazilian coffee.
“I remember, every morning, my grandma would make us papinha, which is bread, with a little sugar on top. We always had coffee with milk and sugar. Coffee has always been ingrained in who we are and what we do.”
- Daniel Gracie
There are two main styles of coffee in Brazil: Naturals or Washed. Naturals are dried in the full cherry prior to de-pulping to allow the bean more time to interact with natural sugars. Washed beans are cleaned thoroughly to rely on the subtle strength of the internal flavors. Due to their fond complexity of interaction, Bean2Bean chose these two styles for the production of Gracie Grounds.
This complexity would require beans from two separate regions:
• Mogiana, Brazil: The most renowned region for producing well-structured naturals known for rich red soil with favorable altitudes, mild temperatures, and rough terrain.
• Bahia, Brazil: Known for vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture, this region is also the epicenter for flavor-packed washed beans.
