Love Liza

Love Liza is the story of web designer, Wilson Joel (Philip Seymor Hoffman) mourning the suicide of his wife by huffing gasoline. He covers up his addiction by pursuing an interest in RC planes. All the while, he is avoids reading the suicide note left for him.
As Wilson’s mental state devolves to a childlike state, what starts as a convenient excuse to buy more gas, becomes an all-consuming purpose Love Liza often blurs the line between comedy and tragedy. Making this screenplay work is a monumental task only Hoffman could achieve.
Beset by his own mental health issues, he brings a level of empathy to the character that makes for an immersive reflection on loss and the isolation suffered in coping.
