24 year-old R&B songwriter Summer Walker has released several successful albums.  Her throaty and melodic sound go hand-in-hand with the longing words she sings.  Themes of love, lust, toxicity, and other relationship struggles are prominent in all of her songs- smooth melodies and steady beats play in hand with the lessons she talks of in each song. 

Relative to current day and age, single “Anna Mae” talks about the problems that social media and outside distractions can cause in any relationship.  Furthermore, the track talks about an inferably toxic relationship between two individuals who don’t belong to each other, yet they know they want each other. 

In current day and age, individuals will give each other just enough to keep someone around, yet red flags and toxic behavior can kill the possibility of any real, healthy relationship.
