MIKE beckons you into his cold, grief riddled world in under two minutes on his latest album opener, Love Supremacy.  We find the prolific 22-year-old in search of a panacea for loss, or anything to calm the waves.  While being a perfect opener to his latest album, Weight of The World, Love Supremacy also serves as a perfect opener to MIKE if you’ve never heard of him. 

What you hear, is what you get.  His rendering of rap rewards multiple close listens.  His muffled, slightly distorted vocals throw us into the fray of his murky inner world where loss and paranoia reign.  Illustrated by a choppy, stuttering off-kilter sampled beat, we’re met with the current cold front of his life: the still looming, grand loss of his mother, an acknowledgement of the immutability of all things, and ultimately perseverance.
